Maggie and i are looking up animal facts to put on http://www.maggieandsam.com/ animal trivia page, and we came across the Meerkat. Maggie thought it was a cat, but it's not. Can you believe it is a mongoose? Here is something that is interesting; they are immune from the poisons of scorpions and snakes! They like to hang out in groups called mobs, and they can dig as much dirt as their own body weight, in a couple of seconds! Wow, impressive, I would like to call the Meerkat a friend of mine.

I think the Meerkat is kind-of cute. I heard that some people turn them into pets because they cut down on the rodent population. Check out that tail, its pretty skinny!
